About us

What is a Congregational Church?
Our roots can be traced back to the Pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower in search of religious freedom. We hold that Christ is head over each local church. We don't answer to denominational structures or declarations; we answer to our risen Lord and Head. We worship in freedom bound only by Christian love.
We are a self-governing church free from outside control, but we consistently seek to be the Lord's free people who are guided by his Word and Spirit.
We believe, with Pastor John Robinson, who was paster to those who came over on the Mayflower, that "God hath more truth and light yet to break out of His holy word."
Our relationship to each other is based on the biblical notion of covenant.... we freely promise to worship, work and pray together as a fellowship of believers, and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to help us keep the promises we make to God and to each other.
Our practice with regard to the Lord's Supper is to hold an open communion table... if you belong to Him, you are welcome at His table.
Why Community Congregational Church
With so many Churches to choose from, you may ask what is special about Community Congregational Church? Why should I go there?
The first word in our name is Community. We are a friendly community of Christians who chose to worship and fellowship together.
We Welcome you to come as you are- casual or dressy, curious or committed, strong in your faith or full of questions. What will you find at CCC are people just like you. We love God and His word, but we accept that none of us has perfect understanding.
Instead of demanding that everyone believe "our way of else," we choose to reason together, to explore the deep things of God together, unafraid to ask questions or express ideas.
We are united in faith but recognize individual freedom. We value independence but love fellowship. We strive to keep the good parts of church tradition without putting tradition over Scripture.
Whether you are in town for the weekend or looking for a church home, we invite you to try CCC. You are welcome here!
What Do We Believe And Strive To Achieve?
We believe:
* The Bible to be the inspired Word of God.
*In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
* Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and out of His grace.
* The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only means of salvation.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will:
*Order our lives according to the Scriptures.
* Endeavor to set a Christian example at all times.
*Witness to others that they may believe.
*Encourage on another in love, with kindness and forbearance, maintaining a living and loving relationship with God and one another.
